Profile

With the hope of becoming a pediatrician and giving back to his community, Jose Garcia majors in biology and health sciences. The recipient of many awards including the Diversity Enrichment Scholarship and the Academic Competitiveness Grant, he has already begun raising awareness about health in the community by teaching a course to senior citizens, both in English and Spanish, discussing diabetes. He has been named a Student Ambassador and is currently working in the Center for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU).
