Geneviéve Massard-Guilbaud. Lecture at the Portland Center for Public Humanities

Geneviéve Massard-Guilbaud is Professor of History at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris and the first to hold an endowed chair in environmental history in France. Her research focuses on urban environmental history, environmental justice, law, labor and the environment. Her most recent book is A Social History of Industrial Pollution, France 1789-1914. She is currently working on a new project, a comparative history of industrial regulation in Europe and beyond.

In November 2011, she gave a lecture at the Portland Center for Public Humanities.
