An Environmental Engineering Major focusing on clean-water issues, Edgar Verdin, is actively involved in tutoring and planning events with LSAMP. He holds the following student group officer positions: Secretary for the American Water Works Association (AWWA), Treasurer for Chi Epsilon-The National Civil Engineering Honors Society, President of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and is a Foreign Relations Translator for PSU’s Engineers Without Borders (EWB). Edgar has received over 25 scholarships throughout his college career, and was named one of the 2012 New Faces of Civil Engineering: College Edition by the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE). A student who loves to learn and enjoys a challenge, Edgar still finds time to play in the Competitive Intramural Soccer League and performs various types of Latin dances both on and off campus.
