Edgar Verdin is a recent PSU graduate with a BS in Environmental Engineering. While at PSU, Edgar was an active member of LSAMP involved in tutoring, events planning, and service through the LSAMP Student Advisory Board. He held numerous student group officer positions: Secretary for the American Water Works Association (AWWA), Treasurer for Chi Epsilon-The National Civil Engineering Honors Society, Vice-President of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and was a Foreign Relations Translator for PSU's Engineers Without Borders (EWB). During his time at PSU, Edgar received over 25 scholarships and was named one of the 2012 New Faces of Civil Engineering: College Edition by the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE). He's a person who loves to learn, enjoys challenges, and always wants to help those around him. Edgar still managed to find time to play competitive soccer in both the PSU Intramural league and Portland City Leagues and performed various styles of Latin dance both on and off campus. Since graduating, Edgar has practiced in Engineering and in Social Work and is excited about serve the next generation of LSAMP scholars.
