Doug Lownsbery received a B.A. in Natural Science from San Jose State University and holds California Multiple Subjects and Single Subject Life Science teaching credentials. Doug has been involved in many aspects of the education enterprise including classroom teaching, curriculum development, teacher training, and educational measurement. In project roles with CTB/McGraw-Hill and WestEd, Doug has had the opportunity to work with many state, district, and diocesan departments of education and many teacher committees around the country.
Doug is currently working on his MST in informal science education through the Center for Science Education. His research interests include the learning progressions of core science concepts, the integration of science with other content areas in the curriculum, and the effective use of technology tools for developing deeper understandings of science concepts.
