Ask Professor Amy Petti

Amy D. Petti, EdD, joined PSU after 27 years in K-12 public education. She is the leader of the Initial Administrator Licensure (IAL) program’s hybrid cohort. She spent her first 14 years as a classroom teacher in elementary and middle schools. She was also an assistant principal and the media coordinator at Banks Elementary School. Most recently, she was the director of instructional improvement for North Clackamas School District. She was also the director of federal programs, including Title I and Title II programs. Prior to North Clackamas, Dr. Petti was principal at Hollyrood Elementary School in Portland Public Schools and was the director of the Accelerated Schools Project (ASP) for the Northwest Region. Her ASP work partnered with Intel, where she trained master teachers across the country. Dr. Petti's research is at the intersection of praxis and policy. She studies and researches collaborative leadership models, those that share the complexity of leading school systems for 21st century learners with teacher-leaders alongside building and district leaders.
