Implementing PSU’s ambitious Climate Action Plan is challenging work requiring collaboration between all parts of the university. The Climate Action Plan Implementation Team (CAP-IT) is tasked with creating and overseeing strategies to meet the plan's goals. They set priorities, establish tracking metrics to evaluate effectiveness, create and manage financing strategies, lobby for institutional buy-in, and inform PSU's annual progress reporting. The team is composed of departmental staff, student organizations, and PSU administrators.

Recent CAP-IT successes include:

• Altering night and weekend class schedules to reduce building energy use
• Developing a climate-oriented paper purchasing contract for PSU
• Developing methodology for tracking travel emissions
• Developing a campus-wide computer power management program, in conjunction with OIT
