Tammi Wheeler, MS, SPHR, Principal of PeopleSense, LLC, specializing in customized leadership and talent development services including: organizational assessments, individual coaching, team and leadership development, management training and group facilitation. With over 20 years’ experience, Tammi excels in building strategic partnerships and deploying people strategies that are aligned to achieve business results. While at Intel she spent nearly ten years in a number of strategic leadership positions and led a large global team of human resource professionals. She is confident that every organization can realize continuous improvement through effectively leading and aligning their talent. Tammi holds a Master’s Degree in Whole Systems Design/Organizational Development from Antioch University and is certified in Myers-Briggs, Hogan Assessments, Facet Five, DDI and Achieve Global.

Instructor. Aubrey Kendall is a supplier quality engineer at Vestas Wind Systems. He graduated with a BS in manufacturing engineering from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Clemson University. Mr. Kendall is a Six Sigma Black Belt with over 15 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, and engineering management in aerospace, energy, and other industries. Chris Dennis Chris Dennis
Instructor. Christopher Dennis, a principal with Portland-based Steaming Kettle Consulting, has been developing, delivering, and evaluating high-technology, manufacturing, and process solutions since 1988. An MSEE from Northeastern University and more than 25 years of hands-on engineering experience inform his in-depth insight into technology projects and the people they serve. Mr. Dennis brings direct and accessible information to his clients without loss of detail or subtlety.

Instructor. Jordan Delapoer is the Director of Brand Strategy at North. Formerly with Wieden+Kennedy, Jordan has crafted strategy for Target, EA Sports, Brooks Sports and Gerber Legendary Blades, among others. He currently presides over all of NORTH’s strategic output as it relates to business goals and strategies, audience analysis, brand positioning, and channel strategies.

Paul Herring Paul Herring
Instructor. Paul Herring, having worked on both the retail and wholesale sides of business for nearly 30 years, has a deep understanding of how the primary functions of a business work together to develop and maintain a successful model. Always focused on the fundamentals, Paul has held positions and managed businesses in multiple channels and industries, and for companies such as May Department Stores, Macy’s West, Mario’s, Columbia Sportswear, and Fender Musical Instruments. Currently Paul serves as a partner with the consulting firm Sterrins Group here in Portland, where he services clients who are in need of strategic guidance with respect to growing their businesses. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Linfield College.

Mitch Menendez Mitch Menendez
Instructor. Mitch Menendez is the Senior Director, Global Apparel Leader for Men’s Athletic Training at Nike. His team works to strategize, line plan, design, and commercialize/bring to market a global apparel line that connects to their consumer/athlete. His role is to lead his team and functional partners across the product creation process that delivers consumer right product that is both profitable and productive. Mitch’s experience at Nike has spanned Sales, Retail Merchandising, Operations, and Product Creation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing from the University of Florida.

Jennifer Nolfi Jennifer Nolfi
Instructor. Jennifer recently joined PSU as the Director of the Athletic & Outdoor (A&O) Industry Program. Prior to joining PSU, she served as the Director for Partnership Development at Looptworks, a design firm that uses excess premium materials to craft limited edition clothing and accessories. There Jennifer gained experience in taking a product from ideation to market and working with partner brands to reduce their waste stream. Before that, Jennifer spent 12 years working for the Portland Development Commission. She counts among her key accomplishments: spearheading a public-private research partnership that culminated in the very first comprehensive market sizing study of the A&O Industry; an action plan to position Oregon as a leader in this space; and providing a platform for PSU to launch a program focused on the A&O industry. Jennifer served on the PSU Athletic & Outdoor Advisory Board and continues to be active with SYNQ Consulting.

Will Sandman Will Sandman
Instructor. Will Sandman is the Account Manager for Avery Dennison; Avery Dennison sells hangtags, labels, patches, woven jacquard, information systems, variable data solutions and much more for the biggest brands in the world. Previous to this role, he spent time with a footwear agent, Chinook Trading, where he spent almost a year in China inside footwear and apparel factories. In addition, he was a materials rep for Huachang Synthetic Leather. Also, he worked for several years as one of the Nike account reps with Paccess and managed the product development management system data and a host of other supplier related initiatives in the Mia Hamm materials library. Will graduated from PSU with a Master's in International Management focusing on Chinese as his language of specialty. Previously, Will also owned Sandman Pottery in Louisville, importing containers of ceramic pots, indoor and outdoor furniture, and other garden products for sale at the wholesale and retail level.

Marcus Reed Marcus Reed
Instructor. Marcus Reed, known as the “Brewer’s Lawyer,” provides legal services to breweries, cideries, meaderies, and other related businesses at the law firm Cosgrave Vergeer Kester LLP in Portland, Oregon. Marcus assists these businesses and business owners in a full range of legal matters, including company formation, distribution, ownership agreements, real estate purchases and leasing, financing, contract brewing and alternating proprietorship arrangements, trademarks, regulatory compliance, employment, and dispute resolution. In 2012, Marcus co-founded the Beverage Industry Networking Group (B.I.N.G.), a group of service providers dedicated to supporting the craft beer and other craft beverage industries. Cosgrave Vergeer Kester, LLP also recently launched a beer blog.

Maria Young Maria Young
Instructor. Maria Young, CPA is the founder of Radix Accounting.Maria earned her accounting degree from Linfield College and worked as a CPA in the tax department at Perkins and Company, Portland’s largest local accounting firm, where she specialized in breweries, service businesses, and high net worth individuals. It was during that time that she recognized a need for contract Controller service in Portland’s brewery industry, and in 2012 Radix Accounting was created to serve those clients. Additionally Maria is Portland’s Lead Instructor of Becker CPA Review, an educational program that prepares CPA candidates to successfully pass the CPA exam. She teaches financial accounting, managerial accounting, tax, auditing, and economics. She also is an active member of the AICPA and the Oregon Society of CPAs,and currently serving as Vice Chair of the Business and Industry Conference.

Geoff Westapher Geoff Westapher
Instructor. Geoff Westapher has had a career with years of senior leadership in all segments of the beer business including, but not limited to: imports, crafts, contract, domestic, and wholesale. He is a former President/COO of 6 beer companies and owner of the 7th largest Schlitz wholesaler in the US and recognized by most major brewers as “the beer industry expert.” Geoff has represented both brewers and wholesalers in the US Bankruptcy Courts, US Federal District Courts, and the state courts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin, and Florida. As a wholesaler, he was nominated for and/or won awards including the Inner Circle, Proud Lion, and Founders awards. Over the years Geoff served on multiple advisory boards including Coors, Corona (Barton), and Pabst, along with numerous industry associations. He is the editor of the beer industries weekly editorial blog www.beerbusinessunplugged.com.

Instructor. Nate Young has worn many hats in his 2 1/2 years as Sustainability Manager at Hopworks Urban Brewery. Significant achievements at Hopworks include revamping the brewery's sustainability-focused webpates, and development and promotion of the first and subsequent HUB sustainability reports. Prior to joining Hopworks, Nate played a marketing role for a number of organizations including Brightworks, a green building consultancy. Nate holds an MBA from Portland State University and a BS in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University.

Instructor. Madeleine (Mellie) Pullman is an associate professor of operations management in the PSU School of Business. She earned her PhD at the University of Utah in 1997. She has previously taught in the Graduate and Executive programs at Cornell University, London Business School, Southern Methodist University, CSU, CU, and University of Utah. Prior to academia, Mellie worked at Pyramid Brewing Co. (Kalama, WA), was the brewmaster at Hops Brewpub (Phoenix, AZ) and brewmaster/co-owner of Wasatch Brewery (Park City, UT).

Albrecht Enders Albrecht Enders
Instructor. Albrecht Enders is a principal of endersgroup and is an adjunct professor at Portland State University. He has 23 years' experience in innovation leadership including work at Siemens and A-dec which resulted in the creation of market-defining product families. At Siemens Medical Solutions, Albrecht led innovation resulting in platform reinvention that allowed the medical division to regain its #1 market position in less than two years. At A-dec, Inc. as Vice President of Product Development, Albrecht implemented a development infrastructure that bridged the culture of a founder/entrepreneur to the future. His work at A-dec resulted in a new product line that has become the premier product line in the dental industry. Today Albrecht teaches and consults with a number of organizations who seek the tools and momentum to innovate and grow their market share. He has a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Fachhochschule Darmstadt, Germany.

Instructor. Dave Garten is currently Professor of Business in the Portland State University and Oregon Executive MBA programs. He teaches graduate courses in Business Strategy, Strategic Alliances and Acquisitions, and Negotiation. He also is Director of PSU’s MBA Capstone Consulting program. Dave has extensive experience in strategy development, management, marketing, product development, strategic alliances and acquisitions, negotiation, raising capital and finance.

Gudrun Granholm Gudrun Granholm
Instructor. Gudrun Granholm is the founder of Box One, Inc. an organization devoted to financial communication for non-financial managers. She received her MBA from Stanford Business School and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). Gudrun has worked with a variety of universities to design, develop and deliver financial curriculum for many nationally-recognized universities including Portland State University, University of Oregon, OHSU, University of California-San Diego, UC Santa Cruz, Southern Methodist University, and San Diego State University.

Kerry Gilbreth Kerry Gilbreth
Instructor. Human Resource Management. Kerry is the Director of Human Resources at Portland State University and has over 16 years of experience managing benefits and leave programs. She is responsible for benefits, leaves and HR front desk operations. she oversees the staff who manage benefits, FMLA/OFLA and ADA for over 4,000 faculty and staff. Kerry is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Portland Human Resource Management Association (PHRMA).

Instructor, Human Resource Management. Enrique is the President and CEO of The Generator Group, an executive recruiting firm located in downtown Portland. He has more than 20 years experience in human resources and talent acquisition. In 2006 he received the "40 under 40" award by the Portland Business Journal for his work and accomplishments in the Portland business community.

Instructor, Human Resource Management and Strategic Organizational Management. Allison is Columbia Sportswear's U.S. Learning & Development Manager. Prior to joining Columbia Sportswear, Allison served as Senior HR Manager for Wild Oats Markets, now Whole Foods. She helps employees succeed at work, develops and executes global coaching programs, and helps leaders build influence and manage change. Allison is a certified coach and has certifications through the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Instructor, Lean Six Sigma. John Major is a founding member of the Northwest Center for Performance Excellence (NWCPE). He is also Founder and Managing Partner of Compass Strategies, focused on helping small and mid-cap companies to design, optimize, and implement manufacturing, supply chain, and service delivery strategies in direct alignment with corporate strategy and desired market branding positions. John recently stepped down as Vice President of Global Operations for Radisys. His functional responsibilities included design and implementation of a structured continuous improvement capability across the Radisys enterprise based on the fusion of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and Policy Deployment methodologies. Before that, he held similar positions with Planar Systems and Tektronix. John holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA, both from the University of Washington.

Diving into digital marketing during its nascent stage, Lisa Peyton is today among the leaders in the field, particularly so in the Pacific Northwest. Based in Portland, Ore., she serves as an adjunct professor at Portland State University, teaching Introduction to Digital Strategies for the Digital Marketing Strategies certificate program offered through the university’s Professional Development Center. Lisa is an avid blogger and publisher, acting as Executive Editor for ThoroughlyModernMarketing.com, a non-profit publication she founded in 2009. Mark Prater earned his BA in Accounting from Portland State in 1981. He is currently the deputy staff director and minority chief tax counsel on the Senate Finance Committee. Prater became the committee's chief tax counsel when Sen. Robert Packwood was chair, who is well-liked and widely praised on both sides of the aisle. Prater’s expertise extends beyond taxes to other areas under the Finance Committee’s jurisdiction including health care.

Instructor, Human Resource Management. Dan Vetter, MS, is an independent consultant specializing in instructional design, training delivery, and human performance improvement. He is actively involved in the local training community and served as president for the Cascadia Chapter of ASTD. He has been the instructional designer of over 70 training programs during the last decade. Prior to moving to Portland, Mr. Vetter invested 12 years working in training and development, and continuous improvement at a Fortune 500 company in Omaha, Nebraska.

With over 20 years experience developing/delivering curriculum for workshops, seminars and university classes, Dr. Stebbins has developed an enthusiastic following for her training programs and organizational consulting work. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies, the Federal Government, colleges/universities and large diverse non-profit organizations. Looking for a way to help her organizational clients improve their abilities in implementing change, Dr. Stebbins is a licensee of Prosci Change Management Methodology and is a Certified Fierce Conversation Facilitator. She is a member of the Springboard NW Fierce Learning Community. She is successfully using this communication strategy inside organizations to help them make the case for and implement change. A sought after speaker, she brings to her clients humor, vision, warmth, passion and a strong belief that what she has to offer can positively change organizations and……the world!

Tami Boedigheimer Tami Boedigheimer
Instructor, Human Resource Management. Tami Boedigheimer has an undergraduate degree in economics and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Portland. She recently held the position of president for Columbia Willamette Compensation Group, an affiliated group of World at Work, and is currently a group partnership liaison and board member for World at Work. Before establishing a career and consulting practice in employee compensation, Ms. Boedigheimer spent over ten years in corporate accounting and finance in the high-tech industry. Since starting her own practice she has worked for companies as small as 40 employees and as large as 10,000. Her work spans a variety of industries, including health care, high tech, banking, public utilities, and manufacturing.

Tom Fabrizio Tom Fabrizio
Instructor, Lean Practitioner and Lean Healthcare. Tom Fabrizio, president and founder of Lean Manufacturing Tools, LLC and a founding member of the Northwest Center for Performance Excellence (NWCPE), has been teaching leadership, team development, and Just-In-Time systems for over 25 years. He received his original Lean training from first-generation experts, including Dr. Shigeo Shingo (co-architect of The Toyota Production System), Hiroyuki Hirano (author and noted JIT expert), Dr. Ryuji Fukuda (member of The Sigma Project in Japan and winner of the Deming Prize), and TPM experts from Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance. Mr. Fabrizio holds an undergraduate engineering degree, a MEd, and a law degree. He has authored several books and training programs about Lean.

Since then, he’s helped grow businesses by connecting his clients with their constituents via the Internet. In 2000, Lewis founded Anvil Media, Inc., a digital marketing agency specializing in search engine and social media marketing for Fortune 2000 companies. Under his leadership, Anvil has received recognition from Portland Business Journal and Inc. Magazine as a Fastest Growing and Most Philanthropic Company

Instructor, Project Management, Business Management, Human Resource Management and Onsite Programs. Paul Spindel is principal at Paul Spindel LLC, focusing on management and supervisory development. He holds an MA in organizational communications and is a certified facilitator of the Myers Briggs assessment and the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Instrument. Mr. Spindel has over 18 years of human resources experience with Marriott and Nike. With Tonia Twigger, he teaches "Creating the Life You Want" workshops. He is president of the Earth Wisdom Alliance and conducts workshops aimed at creating environmental sustainability, social justice, and spiritual fulfillment. His mission is to "touch hearts, challenge minds, and incite laughter."

Instructor, Six Sigma. Steve Zagarola is director of quality for Cascade Microtech, Inc., and a founding member of the Northwest Center for Performance Excellence (NWCPE). He is also founder of The ZDM Group, an organization dedicated to the advancement of statistically based approaches for competitive advantage. He graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech. Mr. Zagarola is Six Sigma Master Black Belt with more than 30 years experience in the application of statistical and modern structured approaches to the optimization of manufacturing and transactional processes, quality systems, and R&D for industries ranging from food and beverage, plastics molding, wind energy, and advanced semiconductors. Mr. Zagarola teaches courses in the Six Sigma yellow, green and black belt series.

Tonia Twigger is principal of Tonia McConnell & Associates, a cooperative consulting group specializing in team development, training, and leading change. She holds an MS in instructional technology and is a certified Myers Briggs Type Indicator facilitator. She has 20-plus years of instructional and program design experience in public and private sectors. With Paul Spindel, Ms. Twigger teaches “Creating the Life You Want” workshops. She works as a coach and mentor with people who are trying to change the course of their lives. Her mission is “behold, ask, learn, create, share, connect.”

Instructor, Conflict Resolution in the Workplace. Born in Malaysia, Ms. Tsai has a unique ability to lead, motivate, train, and retain executives, employees, teams, and clients of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Her work in diversity and inclusion, presentation skills, and cross-cultural competency on three continents has developed hundreds of mid- to upper-level managers into interculturally savvy communicators. She has consulted with Columbia Sportswear, Danner, ESCO, Intel, Nike, Ladies Professional Golf Association, Providence Health Systems, Marylhurst University, Multnomah County Library, Portland Development Commission, Royal Dutch Shell, Tektronix, Western Oregon University, and Ziba Design. She serves on the boards of APANO, New Leadership Oregon, and PHRMA.

Instructor, Human Resource Management. Judy Clark, SPHR, CPC, is the president and founder of HR Answers, Inc., the largest independent human resources consulting firm in the Pacific Northwest. She has more than 30 years of human resource experience. Ms. Clark has been an instructor in the Professional Development Center's HR Certificate Program since its inception and is an adjunct faculty member of the University of Washington. She is certified as a senior professional in human resources (SPHR) and as a professional consultant. Nationally recognized, Ms. Clark's experience with organizations of all sizes and industries gives her the broad perspective she brings to the classroom.

Instructor, Project Management, Business Analysis, Onsite Programs. Ron Sarazin is president of Olympic Performance, Inc., a consulting company, and CEO of Process Path, Inc., a software company. He holds a BS in industrial engineering from Oregon State University and completed advanced training at the University of Idaho and Stanford University. Mr. Sarazin has held leadership positions with ALCOA, PACCAR, PGE, and Mutual Health Systems, Inc. He is an accomplished author and trainer, and his most recent publication, Action with Traction, is available on Amazon. Mr. Sarazin has been active in his profession and the community, and is a youth soccer coach.
