This partnership allows PSU students to work directly with probationers and juvenile department staff, providing hands-on experience while challenging assumptions and about the juvenile justice system.

The Police Reserve Specialists program involves computer experts, including Portland State faculty, in assisting police investigating high-tech crime. PSU faculty and students help to assess evidence and serve as expert witnesses at trials.

The YWCA's Yolanda House is an emergency shelter and service program for women survivors of domestic or sexual violence and their children. PSU students partner with the Yolanda House to meet goals and objectives for community-based practicum focusing on domestic violence and supportive services for children.

Self-enhancement, Inc. provides program evaluation, research, and demonstration projects designed to improve services and outcomes for African-American children and families, specifically geared to reducing non-relative placements of children and recurrence of maltreatment.
