Meet Interim President Michael Reardon
Michael Reardon is interim president of Portland State University while the Oregon University System (OUS) conducts a national search for the University's next president.
Michael Reardon's lengthy and devoted service to Portland State began in 1964 in the History Department; he was hired as an instructor. By the time he was appointed—in 1977—director of the University's Honors Program, he was professor of history and had served as department chair. In 1987 Professor Reardon was appointed Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and, in 1992, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Retiring in 1999 to return to the Honors Program, he again served the University as Provost (this time as Interim Provost) during the 2004-05 academic year. An advocate of international engagement, outreach and recruitment, Professor Reardon continues to be deeply committed to Portland State's efforts in international recruiting and outreach to alumni.
