Profile: Meet Vivian Siu
Research and GIS Analyst
Vivian Siu is a Research/GIS Analyst at the Population Research Center/Institute of Metropolitan Studies (PRC/IMS). She manages and conducts research projects such as school enrollment forecasts, community needs assessments, mapping projects, and household surveys. Prior to her full time position at PRC/IMS, Vivian worked part time with PRC while she pursued her Master’s degree in Public Health at Oregon Health and Science University and Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Portland State University.
Vivian’s research interests include epidemiological research related to chronic disease and associated risk factors, as well as other public health, environmental and urban issues involving a spatial statistical component. Her thesis project focuses on investigating the association between the built environments and walking among older women in the Portland metro area.
