Culture Wars. Other Voices in British Literature: Should 'Welsh Writing in English' be taught as a separate course or module in U.S. Universities?
Free and open to the public
The panel will discuss the possibility and desirability of offering courses or modules at American universities on 'Welsh Writing In English'. The discussion will take its cue from Dr. Tracy Prince's recent book Culture Wars in British Literature: Multiculturalism and National Identity. The evening will commence with a performance of the Welsh national anthem by the Oregon Welsh Festival Choir and there will be readings from Welsh and American writers followed by a reception which will give attendees an opportunity to meet the authors. Light refreshments will be served.
