Biography
Bob Gillis has been teaching in the department since 1993. His interests include political philosophy and modern philosophy from Descartes to Kant. When not bestowing wisdom on students, his pursuits include reading, learning foreign languages, hiking, playing poker, coaching little league, and smashing imperialism. He daily grows more skeptical of the teleological argument for the existence of God, though he would be willing to reconsider if the Padres were to win the World Series. His only authorial ambition at this time is a book called As Flies to Wanton Boys: A Philosopher Looks at Cancer.
