Virginia Butler, Anthropology faculty, co-authored a paper, "Archaeological Data Provide Alternative Hypotheses on Pacific Herring (Clupea Pallasii) Distribution, Abundance, and Variability," published in the current issue of the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The lead authors are from Simon Fraser University, in British Columbia, Canada, but the team included researchers from PSU, University of Oregon and other Canadian universities. The article has received media attention.
