Former Portland State defensive back DeShawn Shead is now a Super Bowl Champion as a member of the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos, 43-8, in Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
Shead, who played at PSU from 2008-11, competed on special teams for the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. He joins former Vikings Clint Didier and Ted Popson as a Super Bowl Champion.
On the losing side, former Viking Julius Thomas, an All-Pro in 2013, also competed. A Bronco tight end, Thomas caught four passes for 27 yards. He played four years of basketball at Portland State, then competed in football in 2010 for the Vikings.
