OTAS: Oregon Travel Activity Survey

The Oregon Modeling Steering Committee is conducting the Oregon Travel Activity Survey (OTAS) to update demographic and travel behavior information that form the basis of travel demand models at the state and urban scale. The OTAS allows for consistency with the prior survey data elements and continued sharing of modeling concepts and components. It includes a core household travel survey that is being used throughout the state in the five ODOT regions and in the seven MPO regions. The core design provides for a robust sampling approach and includes up to five region-specific questions that can be supplemented by additional data needs in each region through a non-core supplement. The datasets for the core surveys in each region are virtually identical with regards to data elements. The OMC partners at Portland State University will serve as a repository for OTAS data. The OMC will work with agencies to augment and analyze these data and make them available to public agencies and researchers.

PORTAL: Portland Oregon Regional Transportation Archive Listing

Portal is the official transportation archive for the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan region. The purpose of this project is to implement the U.S. National ITS Architecture's Archived Data User Service for the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan region. This system is being developed at Portland State University by students and faculty in the Intelligent Transportation Systems Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Kristin Tufte. We are working in close cooperation with the Oregon Department of Transportation, Metro, the City of Portland, TriMet, the Southwest Washington Regional Transportation Council and other regional partners. This work is supported by grants distributed through Metro and by the Southwest Washingtion Regional Transportation Council, the Oregon Transportation, Research and Education Consortium, the National Science Foundation, and the Federal Highway Administration.
