Printing
Print Quota
All students are allocated 500 pages per term (double-sided pages count as two prints). This 500 page quota does not carry over to subsequent academic terms; it resets at the beginning of each term. When a student logs in to print.pdx.edu, he or she will see a summary of their account and have the ability to manage their print quota.
If a student exceeds the 500-page print quota during a single term, he or she will automatically be charged for additional pages at a rate of $0.025 per page. This charge will be billed to the student’s account at the end of each term. To track how many pages you have printed in OIT labs or to view your current overage amount, visit print.pdx.edu.
Sponsored Account Printing Policy
Users with sponsored accounts have the same 500 page quota, but the process for printing additional pages is different. Sponsored account holders wishing to print beyond 500 pages must fill out the
Sponsored Account Print Quota Reset Form.pdf, present it to the Cashier's office on the first floor of Neuberger Hall, and then bring the receipt to the OIT Helpdesk in Smith Memorial Student Union Room 18 to perform the reset. The cost to reset a sponsored account print quota to 500 pages is $25.00.
Color Printing
Wax-based color printing is available for students in the BHB226 24-hour lab, NH96 lab, the 1st floor Millar Library lab, the ICC NH 4th floor labs, and the University Studies FRINQ and SINQ labs. The cost is four quota credits per page or $0.10 per page after your quota is depleted. This option is available to PSU Students only. Faculty and staff may print in color at the IDSC BHB225 lab for a small fee. Call 503-725-9111 for more information.
Web-based Printing (Wi-Fi)
Printing wirelessly via a personal laptop is available. To print wirelessly, visit print.pdx.edu from your laptop and click on the Web Print link. For further assistance and troubleshooting with web-based printing, contact the lab attendant on duty.
Hold and Release Printing
When you submit a document for printing, it is “held” in a queue, rather than being printed immediately. This means less trips to the printer, less wasted print quotas and no more roaming from printer to printer in search of a print request. Simply walk up to a printer and either approve or cancel the held print jobs at a Print Release Station. Hold and release printing is available in all OIT-managed labs as well as some departmental labs.
