Note: To place a pause in your dialing format, use a comma ( , ) for a one (1) second pause and an 'i' character for a five (5) second pause. For international long distance, pauses of up to 15 seconds may be required.

How do I send a fax?
You can send a fax from your desktop computer using the RightFax client software application. If you already have the document in Microsoft Word (.doc) or Adobe (.pdf) format, you can simply "Print to Fax." If you have a hardcopy (paper), you can scan the document and then fax it from your desktop.

How do I receive a fax?
There are two methods for retrieving an inbound fax. You can use the RightFax client software application on your desktop computer or you may retrieve your faxes via a web browser.

What about security?
For those offices with FERPA or HIPAA concerns with regards to information contained in fax documents, we offer a high security configuration. The RightFax system is housed in our network core, maintained with best practices for security and vulnerability tested.

Is anyone else on campus using RightFax?
Yes, to date we have 18 departments on campus using RightFax. Contact TS if you would like to speak with any of our current RightFax customers to get their impressions of the technology.

Can I use the “automatic printing” feature of RightFax?

No, this feature is not offered in PSU's version of RightFax.

Can I use OCR (Optical Character Recognition) with RightFax?

No, this feature is not offered in PSU's version of RightFax.

How long are faxes stored in RightFax?

All faxes will be saved for thirty (30) days. If you need to retain these items longer, save them to the I:\ Drive.

I logged out of my faxbox on accident, what do I do?

To log back in to RightFax, just close the client and reopen it. You will be prompted to log back in.

Why is an incorrect username automatically populated in RightFax?

RightFax will automatically attempt to log you in as your Odin user name. Just replace your username with the RightFax user name provided by Telecommunication Systems and your system will work correctly.

Why did I receive an Outlook error when I started RightFax?

If you receive the message "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client." there is no problem with your RightFax install and it should work correctly. To avoid seeing this message, make sure the Outlook plugin was NOT installed with the RightFax client. Alternatively, you can attempt to uninstall Outlook and then reinstall it. This is successful in most cases.

Why is the image quality of my faxes so low?

If you are viewing your fax in the RightFax client, and the fax is open, go to Tools > Options. Under the "Default Gray-Scale", change the option to "16 shades - High Quality". The next time you open a fax, you should see an improvement in quality.
