DataMASTER reports draw information from a central Operational Data Store (ODS). The ODS warehouse is a large data repository accumulated from sources internal and external to Portland State University.
Internal Data Sources
Banner is the core campus student records system, hosted and maintained by Office of Information Technology. The Banner database includes Admissions, Registration, Transcript, Accounts Receivable, Financial Aid, Human Resources, and Finance information.
Request Tracker is an open source issue tracking system maintained by the Office of Information Technology. It is used by various University departments use for ticketing tasks, customer service and workflow operations.
External Data Sources
OrgSync is a cloud-based, vendor-hosted system that provides students and administrators with tools to manage campus clubs.
The Student Centralized Administrative Reporting File (SCARF) is a bulk exchange system for Oregon University System (OUS) Institutional Research data. Enrollment and student demographic statistics are shared between seven Oregon institutions.
Talisma (Student Data Coming June 2014)
Talisma is a vendor provided Customer Experience Management system. Talisma is used to contact both prospective and existing students. Data for existing students will be available in DataMASTER beginning June 2014. Data for leads and recruitment is currently under review and will be available at a future date.
University Tickets is a cloud-based, vendor-hosted system that university organizations use to sell tickets and collect payments online.
