Frequently Asked Questions about Cable
How many channels should I have?
You should see channels 2-75. If you do not see the proper line up, use the auto channel/program feature on your TV or VCR to tune in and store all available channels.
Can I order more channels or alter the channels I receive?
No, PSU operates under a contact established with a cable TV reseller. PSU is bound by that contact to the set number of channels. The channel roster is selected by the PSU Housing Office. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the channel offerings, please contact Housing at 5-4370.
Do I need a cable box?
No, the cable TV service will be active and ready for use when you move into your apartment. You do need to have a TV that is cable ready and a coax cable.
I only have local channels, 2-13, and they are fuzzy. What should I do?
This is a settings problem that can be easily fixed by taking a look at our Television Setup page.
Who do I contact if I get all 74 channels but they are fuzzy?

What do I do if my cable TV outlet is loose, missing, or damaged?

Can I get a DVR unit for use in my residence hall?
If you would like to purchase a 3rd party DVR unit for use in your room, you are permitted to do so. However, PSU does not support these units and cannot guarantee that they will work with the cable TV system on campus.
