Government Ethics Law

Oregon Revised Statutes Chapter 244 governs Oregon government ethics law. It applies to all elected and appointed officials, employees and volunteers at all levels of state and local government. Thus, it applies to all Portland State University faculty and staff. Generally, ORS Chapter 244 prohibits use of public office for financial gain, requires disclosure of financial conflicts of interest, and limits gifts that an official may receive per calendar year.
