Trainers Wanted
The Oregon State Library is seeking up to 20 trainers to present the Every Child Ready to Read @ your library® curriculum, a researched-based, national early literacy curriculum that consists of three separate three-hour workshops. Participants in this training will become Every Child Ready to Read Standardized Trainers certified to present this curriculum to other early childhood professionals who want to be able to provide early literacy training to parents, caregivers, and informal childcare providers for Set One training hours.
The training of trainers is scheduled for September 20th 2013 at the State Library in Salem, Oregon. Watch our website in mid-May for the trainer recruitment announcement and trainer applications
Summary of Trainer Data - December 2012
The Oregon Registry Trainer Program offers voluntary certification for trainers and adult educators in the childhood care and education profession.
The Oregon Registry Trainer Program includes three types of certified trainers:
- Standardized Trainers
- Community Trainers
- Master Trainers
Qualifications are based on one’s experience as a trainer, experience in the field, and education in the field and are increasingly more rigorous from the Standardized Trainers to Community Trainers to Master Trainers. Trainers can increase their knowledge of adult education and adult development through training opportunities listed in Resources for Training in Adult Education and Development.

All certified training sessions have been reviewed and approved to assure they meet standards in the Core Body of Knowledge and they offer high quality learning experiences for professional development connected to the Oregon Registry Steps. The Oregon Registry Trainer Program partners with organizations that offer training to Oregon’s professionals. Sponsoring Organizations may include resource and referral programs, professional organizations, Head Start programs, and child care training programs. Training offered by some of the Sponsoring Organizations can be found on the Training Calendar.
