Jay Gopalakrishnan, Mathematics and Statistics faculty, has given invited talks and lectures around the world in the past six months. In June, he gave an invited talk at the Numerical Solution of Partial Differential Equations: Theory, Algorithms and their Applications Symposium, held in Sozopol, Bulgaria; at the Mathematics of Finite Elements and Applications conference, in London; and at the Congress on Numerical Methods in Engineering, in Bilbao, Spain. He gave one of six invited lectures at the Museum of Flight in Seattle as part of the Pacific Northwest Numerical Analysis Seminar in October; and he served as one of four members of a scientific committee for the organization of a United States Association for Computational Mechanics workshop at the University of Texas at Austin in November, at which he gave a workshop keynote lecture.
