Six faculty teaching fellows and administrators from Bethlehem University visited PSU's campus from 10/31 to 11/4. They were on campus as a part of the Center for Academic Excellence's Palestine Project. Their focus, while here, was to learn about PSU's teaching and learning processes. Minerva Qassis-Jarayseh, a lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences, was hosted by Dr. Carol Morgaine. Dr. Morgaine was part of a small team who visited Bethlehem University in March 2011 to learn about their teaching and learning processes. Ms. Qassis-Jarayseh made a presentation to SSW faculty about women in Palestine. The School of Social Work is privileged to have participated in this exchange!
"I really enjoyed the films that Ms. Qassis-Jarayseh shared with us. The documentary of the young girl who fishes was powerful both in its portrayal of girls' and women's issues under the occupation, as well as the ways in which it shed some light on a nation's struggle for survival under a brutal and inhumane occupation."
