Faculty Fellows for Program Redesign

Faculty Fellows for Program Redesign

This program provides support for faculty who are interested in proposing a plan for curricular or program revision on behalf of their department.  This plan may involve revisions for entire program, or only part of a program.  Alternatively, the plan may also focus on an assessment process for a recently revised program or curriculum.

Departments may decide to consider revisions for a variety of reasons, including

  • Shifts in enrollment patterns;
  • Increased course sizes;
  • Need to attain efficiencies while maintaining core program values;
  • Desire to encourage persistence and completion in gateway course offerings;
  • Desire to revise content to align with new program goals;
  • Need to amalgamate course offerings;
  • Perceived need to respond to diverse student preparation;
  • Alumni and employer feedback about student preparation for careers;
  • A desire to improve overall program coherence and quality.

Participants can expect to explore and apply program revision concepts that not only encourage students to gain strong foundational knowledge in a field, but also engage students in thinking for themselves in a discipline, becoming increasingly confident participants in the knowledge communities represented by the program. Priority will be given to applications that demonstrate department support for revision planning.  Department chair approval is required.
