Student employee of the year Danielle Grondin received a check that says "You're worth a million bucks!"
Portland State University recognized its outstanding student employees April 11 at an annual awards ceremony in Smith Memorial Student Union.
Danielle Grondin, a senior sociology major and food systems coordinator for the Sustainability Leadership Center, was honored with the top campus award, Student Employee of the Year, and was simultaneously recognized as Oregon Student Employee of the Year by the Western Association of Student Employment Administrators. For three consecutive years, Portland State University has been home to the recipient of the statewide award.
“When I was a freshman, I realized that our world needed to be changed,” said Grondin. “At the SLC, the work isn’t about what I want to see, it's about what we want to see. When you invest in others, it's a win-win for everyone.”
