Daily April 4, 2008 - April 28, 2008
The financial aid census date for spring term 2008 is April 27, 2008
This means that financial aid will lock the enrollment hours for all students receiving financial aid and adjust financial aid for students whose enrollment does not match the number of credits that their award was based on.
What does this mean?
This means that the financial aid office will be adjusting aid for students who were awarded for spring term who have not registered for the amount of credit hours their award is based on. For some students who have registered for less credits than their award is based on, this could mean a reduction in financial aid for spring term 2008 which will be billed to their student account.
What you should do:
Make sure that your registration is finalized soon! This means that you need to be registered for the number of credit hours that your financial aid is based upon. If you were awarded at:
Full time: 12 credits if you are an undergraduate | 9 credits if you are a graduate
3/4 time: 9 credits if you are an undergraduate | There is no 3/4 time for graduates
Half time: 6 credits if you are an undergraduate | 5 credits if you are a graduate
Less than Halftime enrollment at the census date: students lose federal aid eligibility and their aid is reversed and billed to their student accounts.
The only program that has a less than half time eligibility is the federal PELL grant for undergraduates, however the Less Than Half Time amount is 25% of the full amount (this means you only get to keep 1/4 of what you were awarded)
