Food Fray was selected as the 2009 Green Book Festival winner in the scientific category. The Green Book Festival is an annual competition "honoring books that contribute to a greater understanding, respect for and positive action on the changing worldwide environment." Weasel's book is based on a five-year international research project on ethics and equity issues pertaining to agricultural biotechnology, which was funded by a National Science Foundation Career Award.
