Sean Kohles, Mechanical and Materials Engineering and Biology faculty, co-authored the article "Extrahepatic 25-Hydroxylation of Vitamin D3 in an Engineered Osteoblast Precursor Cell Line Exploring the Influence on Cellular Proliferation and Matrix Maturation During Bone Development" published in the journal International Scholarly Research Network Biomedical Engineering. Shelley Mason, Biology doctoral candidate, was lead author for the article, along with co-author Randy Zelick, Biology faculty. This is an open-source article through Hindawi Publishing Corporation that was supported through funding by the National Institutes of Health and the Collins Medical Trust.
