Science fairs need volunteer judges
Author: University Communications

February is the start of science fair season, and hundreds of volunteers are needed to judge student projects in the Northwest Science Expo System.

Judges will evaluate the work of fifth-12th graders at regional fairs in February and March and at the state-level Intel Northwest Science Expo on March 21 and April 4 at Portland State University.

Categories cover all fields of science and engineering, computer science and mathematics. Judges of middle school projects need to have a strong understanding of the category they select, and judges for high school need a degree or significant experience in the field.
