News: PSU's School of Business Administration Named as One of the Nation's Best Business Schools
For the second year in a row, the School of Business Administration at Portland State University is one of the nation's most outstanding business schools, according to the 2006 Edition of The Princeton Review's Best 237 Business Schools (Random House/Princeton Review, 2005, $22.95).
The Best 237 Business Schools, 2006 Edition covers each school's academics, career and placement, admissions and student life and environment in a two-page descriptive profile. The Princeton Review administered an online survey asking students over 50 questions about themselves, career plans, and their schools' academics, student body and campus life. Top school categories include Best Overall Academic Experience, Best Career Prospects and Best Professors. The book's complete ranking lists and student comments are posted at www.PrincetonReview.com.
"I'm pleased that our strong business connections, top caliber faculty and mix of practical and theoretical learning continues to make Portland State a stand out MBA program in the eyes of students," says Scott Dawson, dean of the School of Business. "Our newly-added coursework on leadership development and innovation management should only enhance our reputation among students."
Portland State's School of Business Administrations "strong ties to the business community" are what most appeal to the school's MBA students. Each school's profile includes comments from students surveyed at the school about their experiences. PSU students commented on the "deans and faculty...[that are] extremely well-connected with the Portland Business community" and that the "program provides exceptional opportunities to meet and learn from top business leaders" including Adidas, AT&T, Coca Cola, IBM, Intel, Nike and Xerox.
Portland State University was also selected as one of 122 "Best Colleges in the West" by the Princeton Review's The Best 361 Colleges, 2006 Edition and is one of the colleges profiled in Colleges with a Conscience: 81 Great Schools with Outstanding Community Involvement. The Princeton Review is a New York City-based company known for its test prep courses, education services and books and is not affiliated with Princeton University.
