Portland State’s School of Fine and Performing Arts presents a gala concert in celebration of its All-Steinway School status. The concert kicks off PSU Weekend, the annual event that welcomes alumni, friends and the greater Portland community to campus. The concert will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2007, at 4 p.m. in the Lincoln Performance Hall (1620 SW Park).

Featured performers at the concert are PSU faculty members Susan Chan, Lisa Marsh, Connie Titterington and Darrell Grant. The program ranges from classical piano repertoire and contemporary Chinese selections to jazz. Susan Chan, piano area coordinator, will include a sampling of selections she performed in her September Carnegie Hall recital. Jazz Studies professor Darrell Grant will swing with PSU’s outstanding jazz students. Advanced piano students will perform, and this year a featured alumnus, guest artist and composer Brad Mersereau ’73, will appear.

Tickets for the concert are $15 for adults; $12 for PSUAA members; and $10 for seniors and students. PSU students, faculty and staff are admitted free with PSU ID.
