Tektronix said this morning that it has donated $250,000 to help build the new School of Business Administration building at Portland State University.

PSU is anticipating $40 million in state support for the building and has raised more than $13 million in private money, including an $8 million anonymous donation made last month. The school hopes to raise another $7 million in private funding for the project.

Tektronix, the godfather of Oregon's tech industry, makes oscilloscopes that measure the output of electronic devices. Its headquarters are in Washington County.

Earlier this year Tektronix donated $22,000 in equipment to PSU's engineering school. And in February the Tektronix Foundation donated $75,000 to laboratory and engineering programs at Oregon State University.

PSU has 3,000 students enrolled at its business school. It plans to expand the existing building from 52,000 square feet to 94,000 square feet, starting construction in 2015 and wrapping up in time for the fall term in 2016.
