A graduate of Stanford University, Susan Booth Larson has a varied career in the field of education, as well as in the field of music. She has worked part-time as an instructor at Portland State University since 1976-- in both the Schools of Education (teaching Social and Cultural Foundations of Education, many Law-Related Education and Citizenship Education courses, and supervising Student Teachers.) Forthe Music Department, Susan developed and teaches the Music in the Schools Senior Capstone courses, which help provide music instruction in elementary schools without music programs. She also teaches the String Techniques courses for Music Majors.

When not teaching at PSU, Susan develops and writes multimedia educational materials or does teacher training for Oregon Public Broadcasting, the Public Broadcasting System, Stop Oregon Litter and Vandalism, Northwest Documentary Arts and Media, the Oregon Symphony, Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Publishing Company, and Retire Smiling Seminars International. She also serves as Education Director and Board Secretary for the Friends of Chamber Music, and is Board Secretary for Northwest Documentary Arts and Media. Susan enjoys playing in community music groups. Currently she is First Violin with the Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra and with La Musica String Quartet.
