More than 650 students will participate in Portland State University’s 2006 summer commencement ceremony; representing the more than 1,800 undergraduate and graduate students receiving degrees summer term. Portland State University President Daniel O. Bernstine will deliver the commencement address. More than 2,000 spectators are expected to attend the event.
Saturday, August 19, 2006, at 11 a.m.
Portland State University South Park Blocks between Smith Memorial Student Union and the Simon Benson House, rain or shine.
The event is free and open to the public; seating is provided and available first-come, first-serve. Spectators are also welcome to bring folding chairs or blankets. Parking will be available in Parking Structure 1 (1872 SW Broadway Street) and Parking Structure III (1631 SW 12th Avenue) for a fee of $4.

Summer commencement is a shorter, less formal event than the spring ceremony. Graduates have the option of wearing a cap and gown, and tickets are not required.
