REQUIRED MATERIALS FOR THE MASTER OF MUSIC ENTRANCE AUDITION
Live auditions are preferred. Accompanists are required for works that include accompaniment. Taped auditions will be accepted only in case of extreme circumstances, such as great distance.
Master of Arts & Science in Teaching
Master of Arts in Teaching & Master of Science in Teaching must submit one of the following, as part of their application process to demonstrate graduate level work:
- History Paper
- Theory Paper, descriptive analysis or compositions
- Audition Performance Level at MUP 490 (Applied Music Senior Level)
- Teaching Certificate

A 30-minute audition consisting of conducting one piece the ensemble knows but the candidate does not, and one piece the candidate knows but which is new to the ensemble.

Perform at least one movement of three standard works from three diverse stylistic periods, all major/minor scales and arpeggios, three to five orchestra or Jazz solo excerpts and sight-reading.

Perform three contrasting pieces of memorized solo guitar repertoire and sight-reading. The student should also submit a list of repertoire played in concert during the two years prior to the audition, including solo, chamber, and orchestra/concerto repertoire.
