Event: Black Bag Speakers Series: Marcus Mundy

WHAT:  Black Bag Speakers Series featuring Marcus Mundy
WHERE:  Multicultural Center, 228 Smith Memorial Student Union
WHEN:  Wednesday, Nov. 18, 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Multicultural Center in association with the Black Studies Department is pleased to present Marcus Mundy as the guest speaker at the Black Bag Speakers Series. The Black Bag Speakers Series is a function put on and hosted by the Black Studies department and the Multicultural Center that provides a forum for students and faculty and the greater Portland community to engage issues important to Black people in Portland. The topics range from education to health to pop culture/hip hop. Mundy is the CEO of the Portland Urban League. The State of Black Oregon is a report that the Urban League recently released. The State of Black Oregon examines the issues and challenges faced by Black Oregonians in relation to health, education, housing and employment. Mundy will explore the challenges faced by Black Oregonians across these spectrums, addressing what needs to be done in order to face and fix these issues.
