Student Leadership Committee

Mission: The Student Leadership Committee (SLC) aims to increase student engagement with the Middle East Studies Center (MESC) and, subsequently, raise awareness of issues pertaining to the Middle East among the student body.

The committee will discuss and advise on Middle East Studies Center academic and cultural programing with an eye towards shaping activities that would best serve and have the broadest appeal to the student population.  The Committee will serve as a liaison to the PSU student community and represent the student body to the Center.
Responsibilities of the Student Leadership Committee include:

• Plan and execute two public events per academic year, in consultation with MESC staff.
• Participate in the organization of the annual Undergraduate Student Conference on the Middle East
• Promote the Center’s events, projects and resources to the PSU campus community
• Attend monthly meetings with MESC staff and SLC faculty advisor

Students from all levels and majors of the university with an interest in the Middle East are invited to apply.
