Keith Walters, Applied Linguistics faculty, organized a panel, “Language Access in Healthcare and Recent Changes in the Law: Possibilities for Applied Linguists,” and on the panel co-presented a paper, “Applied Linguistics in the Service of Improved Healthcare: Training Hospital Housekeeping Staff Whose First Language is not English,” at the American Association of Applied Linguistics 2014 Conference in Portland, March 25. Walters also presented a poster on “Shifting Patterns of Media Language Use in Tunisia after the Arab Spring.”
