The Middle East Studies Center’s Communications Intern will take an active role in a range of communications projects. The right candidate will have experience in marketing or public relations and an interest in the Middle East. Applicants should have strong writing and research skills, excellent organizational skills and time management, and be interested in learning and developing professional skills. Students should be able to work well independently and as part of a team and should be able to dedicate 7-10 hours per week to this unpaid internship.
- Writing and distributing press releases about Middle East Studies Center events
- Developing and executing a system for publicizing Middle East Studies Center events throughout the Portland community
- Leading the Middle East Studies Center’s publicity efforts on campus
- Working closely with Middle East Studies Center faculty and staff to understand and effectively communicate information about the Center’s programs
