MFA Reading Series with Drake and Alessandrelli

Please join us as we welcome novelist Monica Drake and poet Jeff Alessandrelli to the MFA Reading Series.

Monica Drake is a graduate of the MFA in Creative Writing at University of Arizona and the author of the novels The Stud Book (Hogarth Books, 2013) and Clown Girl (Hawthorne Books, 2010) which won an Eric Hoffer Award, an IPPY Award, and has recently been optioned for film. She lives in Portland and teaches writing at Pacific Northwest College of Art.  Monica Drake talks with LitReactor about The Stud Book here.

Jeff Alessandrelli holds degrees from University of Nevada-Reno, Portland State University, and University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is the author of the little book Eric Satie Watusis His Way Into Sound (Ravenna, 2011) and his poems have appeared in Denver Quarterly, Pleiades, DIAGRAM, Redivider, Salt Hill, and Western Humanities Review, among others. His first full-length collection of poetry, The Last Time Will Be The First, is forthcoming from Burnside Review Press in March 2014. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
