Information Sessions about the department’s MA TESOL degree program, including the Peace Corps Masters International (PCMI) option, are held regulary during the school year and at least twice during the summer. 


Topics covered include:

•The difference between a TESOL/TESL/TEFL certificate and an MA in TESOL

•Employment options and opportunities in the US and abroad for individuals holding an MA TESOL degree

•The focus and structure of PSU’s MA TESOL program

•The admissions process and deadlines, including information on entry as a post-bac student and admission for applicants whose first language is not English

•The foreign language requirement

•Advising about which courses to start with

•The PCMI option

•Scholarships, TA-ships, Research Assistantships, and other on-campus employment opportunities while a student


Sessions generally last about 1½ hours or until all questions are answered.The next information session will be held

but prospective students are welcome to attend)

If you plan to attend this information session, please let us know in advance by emailing

UCB, the University Center Building, occupies the block between 5th and 6th Avenues and between Hall and Harrison Streets. Enter the building on Hall or Harrison, and take the elevator to the third floor. The building is easy to find because it also houses McDonalds, so if you’re lost, just ask anyone where McDonalds is. Located in downtown Portland, PSU is served by Trimet bus and MAX service as well as the Portland Streetcar system.
