Jiaozi is Chinese dumpling and is a traditional food for Chinese New Year. The corresponding Chinese characters for “Jiaozi” are a reference to the arrival of the Chinese New Year at midnight. While Tangyuan is another traditional Chinese food made from glutinous rice flour and is traditionally eaten during Yuanxiao Jie or Lantern Festival. Please come enjoy this festival event with delicious traditional food forChinese New Year and Lantern Festival, and practice speaking Chinese with the native Chinese speakers. We’ll teach you how to wrap Jiaozi and Tangyuan. Ms. Hao Hongwei from Confucius Institute will give a presentation about Chinese Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival at 6:30 pm. And we will have a Lantern Riddle Quiz which is a traditional game celebrating the festival. Try your luck for the fun of receiving prizes and gifts for Chinese New Year of the Snake (She), also known as Small Dragon!
