Account sign-up
- RefWorks is free for Portland State students, faculty, and staff because the Portland State Library has obtained a campus-wide subscription for the system. Sign up for an individual account.
Authentication
- Authentication is based on IP campus address plus personal Login Name and Password for each account. Remote or off-campus access is possible by entering your Portland State Odin name and password when you log in.
- Login Name and Password information is encrypted.
Compatibility
- Web Browsers: IE 5.0 or later; Netscape 6.0 or later. Mozilla and Firefox work well but are not officially supported by RefWorks.
- Word Processors: Word for Windows 2000 or later; Word for Mac 98 or later. Also, any word processing program which allows you to save your files as RTF.
