Alan is a graduate research assistant for the Institute on Aging and a third year doctoral student in the Urban Studies program. He received his BA in Sociology from California State University, Fullerton in 2001 and then worked as an educational leadership consultant on the East Coast. Gerontology and planning are his field areas. His interests include urban planning for an aging society, housing options for older adults, and the relationship between the built environment and health.
