In this hybrid course we will investigate globalization and identity in North America and Asia using real-world case studies, and by drawing on student's own interests and expertise.
The International Studies Program at Portland State University enhances global awareness and provides opportunities for both academic enrichment and personal growth. The program promotes the development of critical thinking, self-reflection and cross-cultural skills that students continue to utilize long after graduation.

                                                                     

Areas of regional focus include Africa, East Asia, Europe, Latin American and the Middle East. Areas of thematic concentration include International Development Studies, Community Health, and Business.

The International Studies Degree affords an excellent foundation for careers requiring an understanding of international economic, political, social and cultural affairs. In addition, the program provides a solid foundation for graduate work in professional fields such as journalism, international relations, public health, or community development.
