International Women’s Group

The Women's Resource Center (WRC) partners with the International Student Life team to provide the International Women's Group for all international women. Students, scholars, friends, and wives of students are all invited! Each week, women gather together for snacks and good conversation. Come and join us and make new friends! Refreshments are usually provided, and feel free to bring your own lunch or snacks!

The International Women's Group has new topics for each weekly meeting, these topics are highlighted in our weekly International Student Newsletter.  The group meets every Friday from 2-3pm in the International Student Lounge, East Hall Room 122 during fall, winter, and spring terms.

Previous group topics have included:

Successful Adaptation
How is everyone handling the beginning of the new term? We will share our questions and concerns about new educational environment and cultural shock. We will also provide information about volunteering possibilities, job searching, scholarships, internships and students clubs to be actively involved in!

Shopping Time!
Not everyone loves it, but everyone has to do it! Come and join us in the conversation providing tricks and tips for the best, cheapest and culturally original shopping times. We will provide a list of shopping places and markets for the kitchen, beauty supplies and your closets.

International Drinks
Let us spend an hour smelling, tasting and enjoying teas or other traditional drinks from different parts of the world while discussing and sharing our own cultural habits and traditions.

International Craftswomen
Bring your craft box, share hobbies and learn new art skills from others. This is your chance to be creative and productive on a Friday noon!

Spice up our eating habits
Do you feel like trying and learning how to prepare new and exotic food? Bring your own easy to make recipe from your culture and enjoy delicious food from others. We will share recipes and traditions about food from international kitchens.
