About 45 straightâ€A students enrolled as freshmen at Portland State University this fall, including 20 valedictorians from Portland metro area high schools. They came for PSU's highâ€caliber teaching, urban setting, diverse student body, and postgraduate opportunities. But these highâ€achievers are likely to experience much more here—maybe even what it's like to get their first B.
