Playing basketball at PSU requires more than perfecting your jumpshot.
Eryn Jones never dreamed of winning the Big Sky tournament, meeting the best friends of her life, or adopting a grandma and grandpa at a local senior center. But like other woman athletes at PSU, she's managed to do it all while maintaining a high GPA.
"Going to school and realizing that you're getting this free education, getting to meet new people and friends that are going to last the rest of your life, while getting to play the one sport you love, it's such a good feeling," says Jones. "And being able to give back to the community while you're doing it is even better."
After a tough road trip through Nevada and BYU, her team returns home to the Stott Center. PSU hosts Georgia Tech on Dec. 21, then renews its cross-town rivalry with the University of Portland on Dec. 28. That will set the stage for the Big Sky Conference season in January and a chance for Jones to celebrate a second straight Big Sky championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
