Jumpstart on jobs

The two fairs will draw the biggest turnout of employers since the economic boom of the early 2000s, a sign that the job market is coming back and employers are more confident in their job projections, said Greg Flores, associate director of Career Services.
“About 30 percent of new college hiring happens in the fall term,” he said. “If you want to have your choice of companies and positions, starting early is important.”
Flores recommends students come prepared to make a good first impression: research the companies and positions in advance, bring resumes, ask questions and be ready talk about why they are good fit for the job.

Recruiters this year include Skanska, Cambia Health Solutions, Intel, and Boeing. Go here for a full list of employers at the Fall Career and Internship Fair and here for the Nonprofit Career Fair.
