How would you rethink PSU?

Higher education is changing so fast that no one knows what it will look like in 10 years. To best serve students, Portland State must adapt quickly to new technologies, funding pressures and the demands of increasingly diverse and cost-conscious students. Here’s your chance to help shape the future of PSU.

Provost Sona Andrews has challenged faculty, staff and students to rethink teaching and learning at PSU and is investing $3 million in the most promising ideas. She received 162 proposals ranging from new online degrees to new ways to offer credit for internships.

 

“This is all about putting students first, being honest about the changes and challenges, creating a process that fosters ideas across campus, and enabling action,” Andrews says.

 

Now she needs your input. Log on to the rethink.pdx.edu website to read and comment on the concepts by Feb. 22. The teams will use the comments to refine their plans and find ways to combine projects.

 

Finalists will be announced in late March, grants will be made in April, and some plans will be put into action as soon as this fall.
